We will host the exhibition Baumann & Fuchs in the 'Anton-von-Werner' house, a villa adjacent to our gallery in Potsdamer Strasse. Concept, format and title of the exhibition directly refer to the location, the 'Anton-von-Werner-Haus', which was created in the early 1870s for the highly prominent and influential artist Anton von Werner (1843-1915) - first director of the 'Berlin University of the Fine Arts' from 1875 until his death in 1915. An excellent example of the Gründerzeit style, the villa has been classified as a historical monument.
Inspired by the stunning marks of time and history traceable in the Anton von Werner house, guest curator/artist Christiane Möbus will chart her personal history in Berlin, both as an artist as well as a professor at the UdK (University of Arts), through a selection of works by 21 artists who at one point or other during her tenure were part of her class.
Baumann & Fuchs will run from 9 September until 17 September 2011.
